There are limits to when and how often you can enroll in or change your Medicare drug plan. But you can always switch Medicare drug plans during the "Annual Coordinated Election Period" (November 15 to December 31).

In certain circumstances, you may be able to enroll in or change your Medicare drug plan by using a "Special Enrollment Period" (SEP). The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has a useful chart, "Part D Special Enrollment Periods," that outlines different SEP scenarios.

If you think you want to switch your Medicare Part D plan, talk to your Health Mart pharmacist. He or she can help you to select new prescription drug coverage that will be most convenient, appropriate and cost-effective for your needs.
